Gill Princen

founder & editor-in-chief

Forging a community which explores a different, hidden side of Japanese culture. That’s the goal of Yokogao.

Coming from a creative background, starting out as a musician and recording artist, Gill continued his venture in the creative agency industry.

After spending months in the heart of Tokyo working for an agency, he became aware that the reality of life in Japan and the depth of its culture weren’t being portrayed by any of the existing platforms out there. The lack of a tight-knit community and media platform capturing this feeling of Japan through a different lens became the first seed of Yokogao magazine.

Today, Yokogao is a close community of contributors from all corners of the world. Each and every one with a passion for diving deep into Japanese culture.
