GAIJIN PARIS: Introducing Japanese vintage in Paris

Situated in the bustling Marais district, Gaijin Paris stands as a stronghold of Japanese designer fashion. Co-founded in 2020 by Thomas Robert and Chahine Bettat, the boutique has quickly established itself as a prominent destination for fashion enthusiasts.

After visiting Japan for the first time in 2015, the idea of creating a place to display a unique collection of carefully curated work from Japanese designers started to grow on Robert & Bettat. Especially after discovering various second-hand shops in Japan selling pieces by Japanese designers. In combination with their unique experience as gaijins, or foreigners, the concept was born.

Gaijin Paris started out as a pop-up store, multiple actually, before becoming a mainstay in Paris' fashion scene. Driven by a passion for sharing Japanese culture, fabrics, and fashion, the duo sources and curates a rotating collection of unique, timeless pieces. Among their selection, you can expect to find coveted designs from the likes of Yohji Yamamoto, Kenzo, Tsumori Chisato, Comme des Garçons, Issey Miyake, and many more.
